It’s Time for a Senior Mardi Gras | Francois Bend

Mardi Gras 2019 is upon us and here at Francois Bend, we think that seniors should be given every opportunity to celebrate too! If you are looking for a fun and festive place for your loved one, look no further than here at Francois Bend. Here are some ways to celebrate Mardi Gras with your senior loved ones.

Beads

In order to get into the mardi gras spirit, you can pass out Mardi Gras Beads or decorate your space with them!

Masks

Masks are mysterious and fun. Hosting a mardi gras mask craft session is fun and the mask can be worn on Mardi Gras Day.

Balloons

Green, gold and purple balloons are cheap and easy ways to decorate your space for Mardi Gras! Did you know that each color had a significant meaning? Click here to learn about the meaning behind each color!

Champagne

It’s that time of year to make a toast! Remember, having a champagne flute doesn’t mean you have to use champagne. Sparkling cider and other non-alcoholic beverages work just fine!

Games

Bingo is wildly popular among senior citizens as well as many others. Assess what table games would be the best for your senior loved one and plan a fun game night. Use doubloons as party favors for those that win to keep the Mardi Gras theme alive.

Kingcake

Everyone loves cake, but kingcake is even better! Of course, many local bakeries make their own king cake, but making your own is surprisingly easy. Get your loved ones together and make a king cake together and share with everyone around!

Costuming

Maybe the mask just isn’t enough of a costume for the bigger personalities. Crafting costumes is a great way to keep your senior loved one feeling involved, young and in the Mardi Gras spirit!

Here at Francois Bend, we are constantly thinking of ways to keep our residents happy and festive.
